The Bangkok mass transit system, also known as the BTS or skytrain, is now a fixture on the daily commute. However this major international airport now provides services and amenities for millions of passengers every year and there are plans for expansion in 2011. Just make sure you wear a comfortable pair of walking shoes.

Getting around Koh Samui has never been easier using public transport. Simply choose your mode of transport du jour, ranging from taxi motorbikes to pick-up trucks called a Songtaew.

Flying out of Koh Samui is more difficult than flying in. Unlike Patrick McGoohan in the 60's cult TV series 'The Prisoner', most people do not want to leave this beautiful tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand. Staying is not an option; eventually everyone has to depart.
